Why you should come to Leopardstown Races over Christmas
As we build up to the 2017 Leopardstown Christmas festival from the 26th to the 29th of December, I will look to show you why you should attend the iconic horse racing festival over the holidays.
A Day Out - Horse Racing is a sport that most people have heard of, but one that very few people actually go to. It is a day out which is highly underrated, it offers an atmosphere like none other and offers a sport very few usually see. Give yourself the chance to see this fine sport, come to a day’s racing.
Atmosphere - The Atmosphere at a racetrack is an extremely hard thing to describe. It is a an orchestra of noise, ranging from joy to despair between people. In no other sport, does the atmosphere rise with such nervous excitement like the final few furlong of a race. It’s a rush of adrenaline, a feeling that is so difficult to describe to someone who hasn’t ever felt it. Be the person that knows that feeling, not the person who doesn’t.
Friends - With the Leopardstown Races being such a great spectacle over Christmas, one usually finds major groups of friends and families attending from all over Ireland. It can be a way of entertaining each other and meeting up in the Christmas period, a few drinks, a few bets, a few races.
A Drink or Two - Well why not? It’s Christmas time, it’s a time of celebration, a time of togetherness. There is always a time for a drink. Leopardstown offers this. With Guinness and Bulmers tents galore and indoor bars at the track, you might as well treat yourself, it would be rude not to.
Amazing Animals - At times I fear that some people don't understand how spectacular horses are. These horses have unbelievable constitutions. However, despite being such big animals, they are so fragile. The sight of a horse jumping a fence is unbelievable, to see it race is unbelievable. The size and scope of these animals is immense and through the pre-parade ring, parade ring and the accessibility to stand so close to the course, you can be engrossed into a day of the horses.
Value - At the price of twenty euro for students, it would be hard not to call this day value. In comparison to other massive sporting events, this day comes as a snip of the price. Where else are you going to see the best of a respective sport for just twenty euro? Certainly not anywhere else in Ireland.
The Pinnacle - As mentioned in the previous point, this is the pinnacle of the Horse Racing game. Over the four days of Christmas action at the Foxrock track, there are seven Grade One races. Grade One races are the best type of race in jump racing and therefore the best horses run in them. See the best of the game this Christmas.
A Few Quid - What would Horse Racing be without a cheeky punt. No knowledge of the game? No fear. I will be supplying tips for all four days and these will be accessible as long as one gets in touch with me. Profits are profits and lets top off a superb festival with a bit of money in the wallet at the end of it all.
To secure my tips, react to the Facebook post of this article or message me directly and I will send them on to you when necessary. Have a great Christmas, Happy Punting!
