Bunk Off Early, a Star in the Making
After an extremely impressive debut to Bunk Off Early's hurdling career at Leopardstown over Christmas, punters have been eager to see the big grey again. We were granted our wish in Sunday's Grade One Deloitte Novice Hurdle. The bare facts in the race though were that Bunk Off was outstayed and beaten a half length by a stablemate in need of a massive stamina test in Bacardys. That doesn't tell you the story though, Bunk Off, an excitable type by nature was pulling away for the majority of the race Yet when the ten runner field turned for home the Big Grey was tanking along, his exertions early in the race ultimately paid for his chance but did nothing but enhance his bulging reputation as a potential star novice hurdler in a year seemingly lacking a star. Bunk Off Early, forget the name at your peril.
